What I'm Saying.

Welcome to Williteration

General Thoughts

Washington MonumentWelcome to my personal blog, Williteration.

Today marks the beginning of a personal journey. I don’t have much in the way of a goal for this blog, only that I hope to share some things from my personal perspective on life, events, thoughts and anything else that might come up as a result of sharing my thoughts with you, my audience.

If you have found this blog, that means either 1) you’re lost and don’t know which way will take you back to the highway 2) are a personal friend and are visiting to support my endeavor or 3) are interested in what I do. I hope it is a mixture or variation of both 2 and 3.

You might wonder why I chose to name this blog, Williteration. You might not. I am going to tell you anyway.

Williteration is something coined by my fraternity chapter brothers in ??? (SigEp) at the University of Nevada, Reno during my undergraduate college experience between 1999 and 2003. I am a person who enjoys a good debate over the future direction of any organization that I am a part of. That being said, I like it so much that I strongly urge to make my points known several times in different ways. Sometimes I take both sides of the issue to make sure that all possible angles of perceiving the question on the floor are covered. Playing the devil’s advocate, if you will. I think I just might be doing it now. There’s a lot more to me, once you get to know me. I hope, in time you just might.

Well, anyway, I hope you enjoy what I have to say because, like all people, I have a voice and I hope you do too and will comment on my diatribe into the infinite morass of life in all of its complexity and quirkiness.

- Will

Looks good big bro, I like it a lot actually. Very clean and simple. Makes me want to get back into blogging as it was so much fun to debate with people, to which I realized how too many people don't actually try and understand more than just their side of the issue (look at the most 'political' voices on Facebook to see perfect illustrations of my point).

I like the WP blog too, if I do jump back in I am coming to you for help!

That's great DB. You are good at blogging and should pursue it. At least you can attempt to do something worthwhile, opening minds to other thoughts.

Something I learned in grad school through statistics is that when people grow up together, they are likely to think alike and have similar experiences. That is a statisticians dream, but the real world provides evidence that not all people in the sample pool are the same and thus generalizations are harder to glean from the data (i.e. your error reading). I think you are one of those people who shares something others don't think about and thus helps broaden the horizons and minds of those participating. It is helpful because close-mindedness can only render a terrible future (think of lynchings in the south or religious zealots proselytizing their beliefs to all within ear shot).

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, WP really works with the plug-ins. That is why, this go-around, I chose the WP platform over Blogger. Sure, Blogger has sidebar widgets, but WP blows sidebar widgets out of the water when it comes to the functionality of the WP plug-ins.

By the way, did you click on the picture in this post? I used the shadowbox.js plug-in for it. You can download it manually for a Blogger blog here (http://www.shadowbox-js.com/), but you can incorporate it by installing the plug-in on WP. Makes things a bit easier on the admin side.
