It may seem that I haven’t posted here in some time. I have a good reason. Towards the end of December 2011, I was contacted by a representative of Blackbaud. They found WillHull.com, reviewed my portfolio and résumé, and decided to reach out as they were considering adding more staff to their workforce. Since that time, I have interacted with representatives from this organization on seven different occasions. Five of those were official interviews by various personnel of the organization. This took place from the middle of January through the end of February. As such, I decided to keep my activity here on Williteration to a minimum, in an effort to ensure maximum preparedness for each successive round of interviews with the organization.
Last Friday, March 2, 2012, the representative who initially contacted me offered me the position. I start on April 2, 2012 in Charleston, SC for two weeks for training and then I telecommute from Reno, Nevada. I feel as though I have groomed myself, unknowingly, for this position since 2006 starting at DCS Serivces and quite possibly earlier with my customer service experience I gained at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The job description for the position I will be filling with Blackbaud is below:
Blackbaud’s General Markets Business Unit has an immediate need for Internet Solutions Consultants to act as industry experts on the application of Internet technologies, Internet strategies and best practices. Internet Solutions Consultants are responsible for partnering with Blackbaud’s clients to develop solutions for online communication and efficiently managing information. In this capacity, Internet Solutions Consultants must understand the role of technology in an organization’s operations, as well as be able to articulate the value of Blackbaud’s solutions to both system users and executives.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering Internet solution implementations for Blackbaud’s clients
- Guiding clients through full life cycle of implementation of our products from discovery to deployment phase
- Developing best practices for online constituent relationship management
- Training clients on how to most effectively navigate their new site
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients as an industry expert
- Assisting in key business development activities to grow the Internet Services practice
Needless to say, I am very excited that I am fortunate enough to continue working in the nonprofit field, following my passion in serving many nonprofit organizations as clients on behalf of Blackbaud. So, I guess you can say, in short that the purpose of the existence of this website has rendered itself fulfilled by helping me market my experience to the world and to find gainful and meaningful employment.
The adventure is just beginning…
Just remember who first showed you HTML ;)… which by now seems so long ago and was just a tiny drop in the bucket of knowledge you have these days.
Indeed, Henry. The right foundations are of the utmost importance in this industry. You helps set the course, so many years ago.
