What I'm Saying.

…And So Begins My San Diego, CA Job Search

General Thoughts, Nonprofit Communications

Job SearchNow that my cross-country move to San Diego, California is complete, I thought I would provide a quick update about my job search. My current employer, the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), whom I am performing remote work for, is through their second round of interviews for my replacement as the Web Manager for KeepAmericaFishing, leaving me with what I feel are a few weeks left in that position. Even though I love what I am doing for ASA, they would prefer to have a person on-site for that position. As such, my job search is fresh and underway.

What I intend to focus on, in this job search, is Front End Web Developer, User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX), online marketing / eMarketing / Search Engine Optimization (SEO) positions or post-graduate education entry-level positions in local government and/or nonprofit organizations.

Because the San Diego area is not as robust in nonprofit organizations, I intend to broaden my search to include private sector organizations who have a great mission that I can believe in. It is not the bottom line in generating profit that motivates me, but rather if I am doing something that I believe in.

San Diego is absolutely beautiful and the sunsets are gorgeous. Given the current job market outlook, I hope that I find something where I am a great fit and it is, in turn, fulfilling for me to work for that organization.

Do you live in San Diego? Do you know of any good resources for employment in the San Diego job market? Where should I concentrate my efforts first? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
