What I'm Saying.

A Chance in a Million – The Front Fell Off

General Thoughts

I normally don’t post many humorous things here on this blog, but I felt that this one was necessary as it relates to how important regulations are in the modern era and how much this relates to the BP incident in the Gulf of Mexico. Rules and regulations are something that we often take for granted and are a very important facet of modern society. Many personnel who work in the public administration field deal with rules and regulations on a regular basis and are the people behind the scenes either commenting on rules and regulations or gathering documentation on or enacting the implementation of a proposed rule. These rules keep us all safe. From lead-free toys to the features of a car seat for children to how much fluoride is an acceptable quantity in our drinking water.

The topic of rules and regulations brings me to question how such an incident in the Gulf of Mexico happened and how they will apply to the ultimate clean up of the region. Time will tell. For now, however, we get to witness what kind of regulations are required of an oil tanker at sea.

Enjoy.
